The Penguin is this Sunday and is our annual match against a picked team from Horsham. It goes back years and I recall attending this as one of my first shoots at Dorking when I was a member of the Horsham team. Some of us ended up joining the club and in my case the rest is history.

The shoot is a TR 2×10 at 300 with a 303 and 2×10 at 600 with a 7.62 The actual match is for TR but all are welcome and I will record separate scores for scoped rifles etc.

So I think we may be short on TR numbers so the Dorking members who are also Horsham members as well (Rob B George C and yours truly) may have to play for the other side. I’m a bit of a liability to either team but the others are good.

Come along and have a go as the more the merrier. I don’t know the origin of the name but it the shoot was always early in the year and often cold so the Penguin name seemed to stick!
