Sunday 14 April Classic McQueens Update

Update – Scores are on the results page. The comp was for classic rifles, and we did have some take part but the majority was the modern category. The V Bull is tiny at 200 on the Fig 14 so the V count was low but its very difficult to hit with any consistency. Graeme C (as usual) shows us how its done!

In the classic class the scores were lower but with rifles over 80 years old and a 3 to 4 power scope you are lucky to hit the target at all in the time available. You can’t see the shot holes so try to get decent sighters and then try to be consistent.

Anyway its the taking part that counts and its a good opportunity to shoot something other than a round ball target. We had a big turn out and managed to shoot 17 details x 4 and still finished on time. It helps when the shooters are ready and everyone does their share of marking and clearing up etc!

Anyway the next one is a Gallery rifle so a further opportunity to shoot / zero etc at 100.

See you then.

Sundays shoot is a Classic McQueens. Im sure most of you have taken part in this before but to recap its a 2×10 at a Fig 14 (Huns Head) target that will appear in the McQueens castle in random places for a 3 second exposure.

We are using 200 yards and there is a smaller target for this. The event is for classic scoped rifles. That’s the main class but all scoped rifles are welcome so no one gets left out.

We don’t allow iron sights for this as the target is small and we don’t want too much damage to the frames etc.

You can enter as many times as there is time – come and have some fun!
