Gallery Rifle and Work Party Sunday 21 UPDATE

Sundays shoot went well with shooting at 200 on Gallery Targets, It was a bit muddy but the weather was warmer than it has been and it didn’t rain! There was a wide selection of rifles in use and although a shorter program than normal it was a good day. The highlight was of course the work party and I have to express my thanks for all those who turned out and helped. We rely on volunteers so we were able to clear out / sort out both target huts. A large bonfire was consumed and a junk / skip pile created.

Its much tidier (woe betide anyone who leaves it in a mess) and we have created some better storage for the hand held targets. We just need it to dry out a bit.

Thanks again, its much appreciated – See you at the Service Rifle next time.

Sundays shoot is a Gallery Rifle and work party.

The gallery Rifle will be at 200 yards (by popular request) we will probably use the PL7 Gallery targets. It will take longer to score and swap round so we will have to be prompt with the point drill.

The work part is to empty both the target huts and have a sort out. There is plenty of junk and bits we can get rid of,. There is plenty of odd bits of wood that we can burn. I expect given the weather bonfire duty will be popular.

I have purchased some brackets and we will set up dome brackets in the main target shed to hold the hand held targets as these will store better and in logical order.

‘So aside from warm clothing we will need matches and fire lighters plus some stout gloves to move the odds and ends. I don’t think anyone will have an appetite to hang around for ages so we will wind up shooting between 11:30 and 12 then spend an hour or so on the tidy up, fire and storage. Some power tool would help if you have them – Impact Drivers and tool kit. So aside from warm clothing we will need matches and fire lighters plus some stout gloves to move the odds and ends. See you on Sunday – remember the club is run by volunteers so please do your bit.
