Scores posted to the results page. A good day for the few that braved the damp weather. Some good shooting by all and a good, if a little damp day. I thought it was summer!

Scores on the results page. Some good shooting but we have seen better. Still having a fourth target in play made the shooting faster with less hanging about.
Those who attended had a good time and after a slow start there were a few 50’s. This is a shoot that is harder than it looks.
The next shoot is Service Rifle so see you then.
The weather was fine and we had a good turn out for the shoot.
The scores are on the results page. The shoot was based on a 3/5/6 2×10 fired with the A Whyte being 300 & 500 and the Gellibrand Shield being 500 & 600.
We held the AGM afterwards and that went off without a hitch so its business as usual. See you at the next one, Modern Mc Queens.
The work party took place on Saturday and a massive thanks to those who took part in it. The club relies on volunteers and whilst I know many of you have other commitments (me as well) We all owe a huge debt to those who gave their time.
Amongst a long list of tasks the team managed to:-
creosote all the outside furniture and huts, fix some hand rails, add a wider bridge at 100 so we don’t have to get Phil out of the ditch, fixings for the 4th McQueens target and at long last resurrect the 100 shelter and shift a load of Sand up to the butts.
The photos below show the results but don’t really do justice to the effort involved.
When the next call goes out then please see if you can contribute as well.
Thanks again to all

| The Offensive Weapons Bill was granted Royal Assent yesterday, 16 May 2019, and is now an Act of Parliament.
The Offensive Weapons Act 2019 introduces new prohibitions under the Firearms Act 1968 on certain rapid-firing rifles and “bump stocks”, which increase the rate of fire of self-loading rifles. You will shortly be able to view the 2019 Act via the following link: The prohibitions come into force with effect from 16 May to the extent that they prohibit the manufacture, sale, transfer or acquisition of such weapons. The prohibition on possession will come into force at a later date, following the completion of the surrender and compensation arrangements (see below). The 2019 Act adds two new subsections to section 5 of the Firearms Act 1968. For certain rapid-firing rifles there is a new subsection 5(1)(ag) which prohibits: any rifle with a chamber from which empty cartridge cases are extracted using—
other than a rifle which is chambered for .22 rim-fire cartridges. For “bump stocks” there is a new subsection 5(1)(ba) which prohibits: any device (commonly known as a bump stock) which is designed or adapted so that—
Compensation and surrender arrangements Sections 56 to 59 of the 2019 Act set out the surrender and compensation arrangements which must be followed before the prohibition on the possession of the above weapons can come into force. The arrangements are subject to secondary legislation before they can come into force. Details on the arrangements for applying for compensation will be published in due course. These details will include who can apply for compensation, how they can apply, timescales for applications, what information owners need to supply to evidence ownership, and surrender arrangements.

Contact us
For historic reasons we (I) have been reluctant to make much of the contact feature as there have been issues with all manner of unpleasantness in the past. That aside the ddrccttee@bt etc email address has been playing up and I can only get messages if I log directly into the server (I don’t do this often). I cant get anywhere with fixing this so please don’t use it any more as it wont get looked at.
We have a new general communication email for club items at
dorkingr@gmail.com
– should work a bit better.
Dont forget the Work Party on 18 May and the AGM on 9 June.
The Kirby Cup is a 2 x 7 at 3/5 & 6 The AGM is on the 9 June, not after the shoot (long story)
Scores on the results page, well shot to everyone. Not may people but we all had a good shoot so your loss.
The next one is Service Rifle so we will see you then.
Dont forget the Work Party on 18 MAy and the AGM on 9 June.
AGM Notice
Good turn out on a chilly but pleasant day. Over 50 scores recorded and we managed to move things along reasonably promptly. The results are on the scores page.
The main competition was for Classic Sniper Rifles at 200 yards but the moderns shot as well. It is a smaller scoring rings on the 200 McQueens and a particularly small V bull.
This was reflected in the scores but there were some good results. The top classic shot was Neil B with 45.2 (the No 4 had a modern scope) but we will let him off with this once.
Kevin M and Dean H both managed 50.2’s that is good shooting on this surprisingly difficult shoot.
Anyway it was a good day and worth turning up for.
The next shoot is a Queens 1 (2×7 at 300, 500 & 600) TR rifles shoot first but open to all and the AGM follows the shoot in the club house.
Scores are on the results page – Well shot all. The shuffle round of the details seemed to make it go a bit quicker so we will probably stick with that until we decide to change it again.
It’s the classic McQueen next but all are welcome etc.
We have loud things on the range from time to time but there is only one Gary and his M44′ Spare a thought for the chap next to him!
Update
Washout, pity really.
On a brighter note the next shoot is a Gallery Rifle and a date for your diary is
